The Fresno Falcons were once giants of the Western hockey world, winning multiple championship titles, iconic green and yellow jerseys, and deep roots in the culture of California hockey. In 2024, Matt Braun and Daryn Goodwin revived the name to bring elite play back to the Valley and honor those who built it.
What began as a revival quickly evolved into something greater.
Matt, already leading an elite Falcons team and winning tournaments, recognized the energy and commitment rising from the Fresno Roller Hockey Foundation (FRHF), a grassroots movement born from open pickup games, no-nonsense structure, and raw passion for the sport. In August of 2025, the Falcons and FRHF formed a partnership combining history, energy, and purpose to grow the sport.
The Fresno Falcons will continue to fly higher and farther. Under Matt’s leadership, the competitive travel arm has become the proving ground for serious players, and a launchpad for the next generation of Fresno Falcons hockey.
